|

Scottish
City Link
|
| Scottish
CityLink cover most of Scotland with their coach routes. Primarily
focussed on linking the major cities, they also offer routes
to and from some of the more remote areas to the north and west. |
| Stirling
is central to many of these routes and the coaches on them all
stop at Stirling's Goosecroft Bus Station. |
| CityLink
offer special prices for 3, 5 or 8 day unlimited travel on their
services within Scotland. |
| |
Routes
from the South
|
| CityLink
also offer two services from London's Victoria Coach Station.
|
| The first
runs to Aberdeen. During this journey, the coach stops at Heathrow
Airport, Milton Kynes, Birmingham, Manchester, Penrith, Carlisle,
Glasgow, Perth and Dundee. This service DOES NOT
stop at Stirling. A connection at Glasgow would be the best
option for Stirling. |
The second
service runs from London's Victoria Coach Station up to Inverness.
This route stops at Milton Kynes, Penrith, Glasgow, Stirling,
Perth, Pitlochry and Aviemore.
Of the two routes, the second would be the best for travel to
Fordhead. |

Travel
to Scotland by Coach
|
| |
National
Express
|
| The National
Express network covers the vast majority of England and Wales.
They also operate in a number of local regions in Scotland mainly
in and around Glasgow. |
| National
Express offer routes from many English towns and cities to Scotland.
In most cases, the routes terminate at Glasgow or Edinburgh,
with a few exceptions running further up the country. Most of
the destinations above Glasgow and Edinburgh require a transfer
to a service run by CityLink. Due to the huge variety of routes,
the permutations are difficult to show, so the routes on the
map are just a few examples. |
| Some route
planning is advised for travel to Stirling if you start from
a National Express location in England. As an example, there
is a service that runs from London to Dundee. The coach stops
at Glasgow, then Perth, then Dundee. To get to Stirling from
this service, you would be best to get off at Glasgow and make
your way up from there on another service. If however you follow
the (often confusing) directions given in timetables, you could
easily get off the coach at Perth, or even Dundee. You would
then take the follow-on service specified to journey all the
way back to Stirling. |
| Bearing
all this in mind, it is strongly advised to use the on-line
route planner on the site below. Make sure you check the route,
the places the coach stops (and just as important, the places
it doesn't) and determine what follow-on services you need to
take once you get to the destination. |
